Fancy a sustainable pint? Discover the brewing magic of the award-winning Ludlow Brewery, here in Shropshire and the Marches – an area fast becoming one of the leading brewing regions in the UK. Following Ludlow’s tradition of fine food and drink, Ludlow Brewing Company is a small brewery which aims to produce high-quality real ale for the discerning drinker. We have the capability of producing around one and half million pints annually. Why not pop in and try one of our delicious ales for yourself?
Located in a specially converted railway shed, just over 50 metres north of Ludlow Railway Station, the building has been sympathetically refurbished to modern building standards; and houses a 20-barrel brewing system. During the design of the brewery every effort was made to ensure that an environmentally friendly and low-carbon facility was established. In recognition of the innovation, we won the Ludlow Heritage Award in 2011. The renovation was judged to be exemplary in terms of preserving and enhancing the character, through the usage of both ancient and modern building materials; while the high-quality craftmanship upholds the best traditions of construction in Ludlow.
We’re proud to be a local friendly brewery that makes good, honest beer for all those who enjoy a proper pint. We are aware of how businesses can impact the environment and we do our best to minimise the impact of our activities.
We use an air source heat pump system; reclaim heat from liquid cooling and atmosphere, which is used for water heating (for brewing and underfloor heating); recycle rainwater; have low-carbon insulation; use low-energy lighting and solar panels. Spent grain, hops and yeast are recycled as animal feed. Where possible, we source locally, and have an anti-beer miles policy of delivery locally (within 50 miles).
So, when you drink our beer say ‘cheers’ with a clearer conscience!
